Looking for a Few Good Cooks

Thanks for stopping by again! Why not stay connected by subscribing to my RSS feed.

Okay, so if my blog is a little quiet lately, it’s because I’m working on some important stuff over here, like gathering recipes for a cookbook the school is putting together for a fundraiser. Someone asked me about my contribution the other day. I told her I didn’t have any original recipes. She seemed surprised!

I told her, “I can barely follow a recipe, let alone make one up from scratch.”

“Well, haven’t you ever made additions or changes to a recipe?”

“Nope, I am just not that creative.”

So I’m hoping that some of my readers might be able to help me out here.  If you happen to have an original - or at least altered - recipe that you can call your own that you could donate to this project, please leave me a comment and I’ll contact you. Of course, I would make sure that you receive credit and have your blog address listed in the cookbook. Oh, and the deadline is coming up quickly.  I will probably need it by the 28th so I can input it into the site in time.  I know, I know.  I could have told you about this a little sooner.  Right?

In the meantime, I’m having to “cut the strings” to my blog, so to speak, since it was threatening to take over my life.  I am going through some withdrawals as I tend to other necessities; mainly, trying to pull together tax info so I can FedX it to my accountant, get it back and fill out the FSFA (Federal Student Financial Aid) form by Feb. 7.  How is that even possible? I have no idea, but there is a large scholarship waiting to happen for Mae and I absolutely cannot blow this.  So please excuse my absence and don’t take it personally or anything.  I’m sure I’ll be back to my regular blog-obsessive self as soon as I take care of all of this.

If you happen to be a new visitor here, why not stick around and read some of my older posts. You can learn about my joy stealers, flashback to some Christmas cheer, or find out why I sometimes have to rescue my own clothes!

Good luck with the recipe. I wish I could help you out, but I’m kind of a cheater cook. I’ll take already prepacked foods (like the LIpton’s Noodles and Sauce), cook up a couple of those, add veggies and and some type of protein and call it good. I don’t like to cook because my kids are SO fussy. There is no point in making anything fancy when all they want is mac and cheese.

I am the SAME way. I don’t ever alter a recipe. My idea of being creative is leaving out the nuts in a cookie recipe, lol. But it sounds like a fun project!

Oh, I LOVE to cook but haven’t changed my recipes enough to claim them as my own. Not sure what type of recipes you are looking for but I know L.L. Barkat over at http://greeninventionscentral.blogspot.com has lots of invented stuff. You could email her and I am sure she would share some yummy idea with you.
