Summer: Where You’ll Find Me

Thanks for stopping by again! Why not stay connected by subscribing to my RSS feed.

Summer is my absolute favorite season.  I love it because here in Idaho, it stays light out until 10:00 or so.  Let me share with you some pictures from my favorite hangout here at home and locally.

This small deck is right off of the kitchen and it’s my favorite spot when the weather is warm.  The location has an added benefit; the rest of the family doesn’t think to look for me here. It provides an element of privacy and quiet that I can’t get inside.

You can be sure to find me here in the early morning (well, not too early).  That’s when it’s shaded and cool, and there’s a lot of bird and butterfly activity.

In the evening, I come here to write or simply sit and watch the storm clouds roll in.

My other favorite warm-weather hangout is in the nearby foothills.  This is one of the spots where we go mountain biking. We went for a ride last night, racing to beat the storm.  This is my husband coming up a very steep hill. You’re probably wondering how I beat him to the top and snapped this picture; I didn’t (beat him).  I took an easier short cut, since I’m kind of a wimp, and waited for him at the top.

While we were there, we discovered this beautiful scene over at the veterans cemetery.  I thought it would be fitting to leave you with this shot.

Endless thanks, and a heart full of gratitude, to all of the brave men and women defending our country. And remembering those who took a risk for the sake of our country and signed the Declaration of Independence.

Happy 4th everyone!
